Project: Define Your Monetization Motion

Log your decision in the Master Strategy Project β†’ Growth Motions section. For monetization, capture:

  1. Motion choice: Product-led, Sales-led, or Hybrid.
  2. Viability: Mark as Viable Now or Viable Later.
  3. Analysis of viability: Why is it viable or not yet? (e.g. ARPU levels, customer buying patterns, ability to self-serve vs. need for reps).
  4. System alignment: How well does this motion align with your:
    • Guardrails (target CAC, payback window)
    • Foundational Five (esp. model + market fits)
    • Alignment factors (velocity, commitment, cost)
    • Story System (how your monetization motion reinforces your positioning and buyer narrative)

When put together, you should have a short strategic narrative like:

We are pursuing a product-led monetization motion. This motion is viable now because [strategic analysis]. It aligns with our [guardrails, foundation, alignment factors, story system] in the following way [insert reasoning].
